Let`s meet our newest team member!

As we step into the new year, we're excited to welcome new members to the Bazeport team. Meet Thomas Rydland, our latest addition to the ICT department. Thomas, who previously worked as an IT consultant in the Skien Public Sector, has chosen to bring his skills to Bazeport, and we couldn't be happier.

Hey, Thomas! Welcome! How's your experience settling in at Bazeport so far?

Hi! The first days were a bit overwhelming, but I've been looking forward to joining Bazeport for a while. The colleagues have been really welcoming, and it seems like the Bazeport spirit is all about that :) I'm enjoying tackling technical challenges and finding solutions. It's been a great start. Thanks for having me!

Can you share a bit about your journey in ICT and why you chose this field?

My interest in technology began with TV shows and gaming consoles as a kid. When I got my first PC at 14 and started exploring the internet, I found myself drawn to computer networking. Downloading the 'Anarchists cookbook' and exploring telnetting to phone centrals in the States gave me that 'wow' feeling, and my passion for ICT grew from there.

In a tech-focused company like Bazeport, what aspects of your role are you most excited about?

Coming from a diverse role in service and support, I wanted to shift to a more technical position, and Bazeport seemed like the perfect fit. It's already proven to be the right choice for me!

Bazeport emphasizes IPTV technology in the maritime industry. Were you familiar with it before joining, and what insights do you bring?

I wasn't familiar with IPTV in the maritime sector, as my experience in that area is limited. I'm eager to learn and contribute to Bazeport's innovative work in crew welfare.

And just for fun, can you share an interesting fact about yourself that your colleagues might not know yet?

I own and drives a Honda VFR (motorcycle) whom I call "The Red swan".

Welcome aboard, Thomas! We're thrilled to have you here.
