For our BazePort Content Services (BCS) customers we are reducing the bandwidth requirements for content updates with up to 75%.
This is possible with our introduction of new file transfer features; multi-encrypt file format and individual DUBS selection. Each BazePort installation can select which audio languages to subscribe to.
Multi encrypt format means that one single file per title (movie/episode) will be used for both BazePort set-top boxes, BazePort webapp for Android personal devices and BazePort webapp for IOS personal devices. This will cut the number of files, and amount of data to be transferred with 50%. With our previous file format, we had one file per end user client type.
CHOOSE YOUR LANGUAGES
Individual DUBS selection means that the each BazePort installation will have the option to select which audio track languages to be included for their delivery. Most of the titles we deliver have multiple dubbings. We believe that for many of our clients, there is no need for all these languages on the same vessel.
While English, Brazilian Portuguese and French DUBS are relevant for an international client on a large oil- installation, they might not be relevant for a vessel with a predominantly Pilipino crew. These dubbings take up space as well, often it´s half the size of the total file size we transfer to the installs.
This has no effect on News and Podcast file size, as this is unencrypted content. There is no individual selection for SUBS.
