BazePort 8.6 includes a new method for using external APIs in a BazePort Publish, Slide element. Useful when data used in the slide is dynamic and produced in systems other than BazePort. This new feature, available in BazePort Publish, is expected to be used by people who are experienced with coding and using JSON APIs.

This feature requires skill level advanced.

Sometimes it is helpful to extract information from one system and display it on another. This way, you can combine data from multiple sources together.

The slide above is an example of such a Slide. There are several fixed elements, like pictures and placeholders for text, and then four different elements that hold data from an external source. In our example, this data includes time and destination in two different languages. The data is collected from a JSON API. The most significant advantage is that the information displayed is constantly updated with the source.

You can easily add the URL for the external JSON API source within BazePort Publish. You can also test the API to ensure that everything is set up and works as expected.
