A Bazeport set-top box that is to be used for digital signage purposes or make use of streaming apps must be configured to run the Android OS.
In a Bazeport system setup, you are free to combine the use of both Linux and Android set-top boxes.

The following functionality, currently available on CT-2211 and CT-2191 that are running Linux, are not available when/if converted to the use of Android:
- Wifi tethering
- Use of legacy remote controls
- 802.1x
- Bluetooth headphones
- RTSP support (used by certain CCTV)
- Multicast Widevineencryption
- Pro:Idiom encryption
- IR-dongle
- USB support (playback from USB)
- Remote suspend
