New dashboard: system administrator can choose to make a dashboard available without requiring login from the dashboard user.
NEW IN MANAGEMENT STUDIO CONFIGURE
System settings, Start page: system administrator can choose between Cherry-page and Classic modes for the installation’s Start page. It is possible to choose between the following content categories/short-cuts for the Cherry-page: Continue watching, New arrivals, Favorite channels, Recommended movies and Info items from the Information portal. Note that you can still present RSS feeds, tickers and notifications on the Start page for the Cherry-page users, it will be presented in the same place as before, and the Cherry-page categories will be listed below the RSS feed.
System settings, Region and time: System administrator can now choose IP address or hostname of the NTP server in use by the BazePort clients. Defaults to the BazePort server.
System settings, Region and time: for installations crossing different time zones and would like to improve the control of the local time presented on the BazePort clients: System administrator can now choose that the time zone in use for the BazePort clients will be calculated automatically based on the offset between the “NTP Server” (UTC) and the “NTP Server – Master clock local time” (Local time).
SOFTWARE PATCHES FOR LINUX INSTALLS
A new and improved method for transfers of software patches has been introduces with version 8.2. BazePort IPTV installs, running Linux as OS (new in version 8.0). This method allows only incremental updates to be sent, reducing overhead data significantly.
IMPROVED TRANSFER OF INFORMATION AND VOD CONTENT OVER BCS
Our unique method of video on demand data transfer OTA to BazePort IPTV installs worldwide is dependent on transfer method that is robust using connectivity that is sometimes extremely slow, have very high latency and frequently interruptions. With BazePort 8.2 we have again released a version that improves this function. Making it more robust and allows use of very poor-quality connections.
